This year marks the 125th anniversary of Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch!
While Glenfiddich will officially be celebrating the milestone with a star-studded soiree at the Statue of Liberty, these recipes can allow anyone (even whisky novices) to celebrate all that sets Glenfiddich apart.
Whisky cocktails are experiencing a resurgence, and single malt cocktails are a unique and under-explored category of their own. For those looking to add a modern twist to more traditional Scotch cocktails, The Pioneering Spirit is sure to be a hit with its refreshing use of pear juice and agave nectar.
The anniversary event, hosted by Entourage star Adrian Grenier, will feature a live auction of the world’s most valuable whisky, Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve. And while we may not all be able to enjoy a dram of the 55 year old Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve, we can certainly all enjoy a Mrs. Roberts, a one-of-a-kind cocktail created to honor the occasion.
The Pioneering Spirit
1 ½ parts Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
2 parts pear juice
½ part agave nectar
1 part lemon juice
Shake all ingredients on ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.
Mrs. Roberts
2 parts Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
½ part Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
½ part pomegranate molasses
Dash of plum bitters
Shake all ingredients on ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
