Maxx Menu rolls out digital tablet menus
Paperless menus give customers interactive way to view menu options
STAMFORD, CT – New technology is changing our world at rapid rates and is now transforming the way restaurants do business.
Thanks to software developed by Maxx Menu, based in Stamford, Conn., restaurateurs are replacing paper menus with computer tablets that offer customers an interactive way to view entrees, cocktails and wine lists.
“Our menus allow the ability to describe each menu item with ingredients, nutritional facts and other important information, and a photo can also be matched with each menu item,” said Stephen Drew, president of Maxx Menu, the leader in digital tablet menus.
Special events and promotions can be promoted on the tablets, as well as suggestions for wine and food pairings.
Maxx Menu has already lined up clients in the Northeast and is now expanding nationwide. The company is marketing to upscale independent restaurants, multi-independent restaurants, national chain restaurants and casual chain restaurants.
“We’ll customize a program and budget to fit individual needs,” Drew said.
Research has shown that engaging consumers on a more intimate level enhances their satisfaction and increases revenue for the restaurant, as much as 25 percent, he said.
The visual stimulation customers receive from pictures –videos can also be uploaded – increases impulse ordering, Drew said. And promoting daily or monthly specials, events, and specialty dishes on the tablets leads to the sale of higher-margin items.
In addition, restaurants will save time and printing costs as they make menu changes and updates, which can be done instantly using the tablets.
The tablet menus will not replace wait staff’s job of taking orders and serving. However, software can be customized for direct orders from table to kitchen if a restaurant is interested, and software can also allow credit card swipes that would be part of the restaurant’s Point of Service system.
Security measures have been built into the software; alarms sound is someone attempts to carry the tablet out of the restaurant.
