RÉMY MARTIN® CELEBRATES 80 YEARS IN THE US WITH PACKAGING REDESIGN
ICONIC CENTAUR PROMINENTLY ADORNS NEW RÉMY MARTIN V.S.O.P BOTTLE
Rémy Martin Cognac is unveiling new, upgraded packaging for its legendary marque, Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. As a salute to founder Paul Emile Rémy Martin and a tribute to the product’s arrival in the U.S. 80 years ago, the new packaging features a richer signature red label and the brand’s iconic Centaur symbol emblazoned at the heart of the green frosted bottle.
“The Rémy Martin Centaur is a seal of quality and a symbol of our distinguished heritage” said Emma Medina, Vice President Marketing for Rémy Martin in the U.S. “It is only fitting that our new packaging proudly features the quintessential emblem which reminds us to keep our feet on the ground but to always aim for the stars.”
The Centaur was chosen as the Rémy Martin brand hallmark in 1870 by Paul Emile Rémy Martin, who was born under the star sign of Sagittarius. He saw the Centaur as the ideal symbol to embody harmony between man and nature in the creation of cognac. The union of soil, grapes and weather combined with the knowledge and craftsmanship of the Cellar Master create Rémy Martin’s highly respected line of cognacs.
In 1927, Rémy Martin V.S.O.P was created by Cellar Master André Renaud who revolutionized the spirit by using only grapes from the Grande and Petite Champagne growing regions in Cognac, France. Distilled twice in copper pot stills with its natural sediments to produce a superior tasting spirit, Rémy Martin V.S.O.P is matured longer than any other V.S.O.P on the market in high quality barrels made from Limousin oak. Rémy Martin V.S.O.P became the first marque from the House of Rémy Martin to be introduced in the U.S. in 1934. With the iconic Centaur symbol emblazoned at its core, it is now the best-selling V.S.O.P in America, known for its superior taste, high quality and rich history.
The new Rémy Martin V.S.O.P bottle can be found at fine wine and spirit shops across the country beginning in April 2014. The suggested retail price for a 750ml bottle is $40.00
