Great news for bartenders: The Taste Collective by 1800 Tequila is back! So if you missed last year’s slate of impactful and inspiring events you have another shot to attend one over the next several months.
The Taste Collective by 1800 Tequila was created by a collective of some of the best and brightest minds in the bartending and culinary world, including famed food scientist Dr. Arielle Johnson, award-winning bartender Ignacio “Nacho” Jimenez and acclaimed chef Ana Castro.
This isn’t just another tasting; it truly was an experience of unlocking depth within me and unlocking flavor. The experience wasn’t about shade, but to grow in craft and connection. You could see the time and detail spent on the experience; it was palpable.” — Chicago Bartender
As the Most Awarded Tequila, 1800 Tequila prides itself on being the best taste in tequila. So the Taste Collective’s educational program is, no surprise, centered on master classes all about taste. Each session delves into the science of taste and explores how understanding that sense will make you a better bartender.

All attendees can expect an immersive and proprietary taste analysis experience designed to explore the science behind how we perceive flavor. Through a series of guided sensory tests, participants will uncover their unique taste archetype — a personalized profile that reveals how they experience sweetness, bitterness, acidity, texture, and aroma.
“Great experience for experts and beginners. The activations were fun and the taste testing was very interactive, which kept the audience engaged.” — New York Bartender
More than just a tasting, the experience seeks to deepen guests’ understanding of their own palate while highlighting the artistry behind cocktail creation. Using their individual archetype as a guide, attendees will receive tailored tips and inspiration to refine their cocktail-making skills, experiment more confidently with flavor pairings, and discover new ways to create with 1800 Tequila.
The Taste Collective by 1800 Tequila will visit five cities in 2026 and the programming kicked off in San Diego, California, on May 11. It will also have stops in Atlanta, Georgia, Denver, Colorado, and Houston, Texas.
“The whole concept was so unique. Truly an excellent way to showcase 1800 Tequila by giving bartenders a platform to help unlock a higher level of taste.” — Dallas Bartender
The web platform for the Taste Collective by 1800 Tequila extends the experience year round with recorded masterclasses that you can view at any time. You can also watch videos produced by The Collective that feature local taste makers in these different areas across the US.
Don’t miss your chance to attend this incredibly important event and learn from some of our industry’s thought leaders. The taste analysis is complimentary, but you need to reserve a spot in advance. Keep in mind reservations are given out first come, first serve.
