How to Make a Matcha Maker
♦ Difficulty Level: Moderate – Enough complexity to impress a date, but not intimidate yourself
BARTENDER Magazine’s Recommended Spirit: Cut Above Agave Blanco Tequila
♦ 2 Cut Above Agave Blanco Tequila
♦ 2 Milk (or milk substitute)
♦ 0.25 Honey Fresh mint garnish
1. Prep matcha: Add 1 Tbsp matcha powder to a shaker. Add a small splash of milk (or a splash of warm water) and shake/whisk until the matcha is fully smooth with no clumps.
2. Add remaining ingredients: Pour in 2 oz 2 Cut Above Agave Blanco Tequila, 2 oz milk (or milk substitute), and 0.25 oz honey.
3. Ice & shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.
3. Strain: Double-strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass (fine strain helps catch any matcha specks).
3. Garnish: Slap a fresh mint sprig to release aroma and place on top.
3. Serve: Enjoy immediately while cold and creamy.
