How to Make a Gibson

Recipe Details

A signature Tanqueray martini from Dear Irving on Hudson.
♦ Difficulty Level: Moderate

Ingredients

BARTENDER Magazine’s Recommended Spirit: Tanqueray No. Ten Gin
♦ .25 oz House made Onion brine
♦ 1 oz Carpano Bianco Vermouth
♦ 2 oz Tanqueray TEN
♦ Glass: Nick & Nora
♦ Garnish: Cocktail Onion

Steps

1. Chill your glass. Place your Nick & Nora glass in the freezer
2. Build in the mixing glass. Add the onion brine first, then the Carpano Bianco, then the Tanqueray No. Ten over fresh ice.
3. Stir smoothly for 30 seconds (about 50 rotations). You’re looking for proper dilution and a silky, ice-cold texture
3. Grab your Nick & Nora from the freezer.
3. Using a Hawthorne strainer, strain the cocktail into the chilled Nick & Nora glass in one smooth pour.
3. Skewer one cocktail onion and drop it gently into the glass.
