♦ Difficulty Level: Easy – Rookie moves, slightly more effort than cracking open a beer
BARTENDER Magazine’s Recommended Spirit: Jameson Orange
♦ 1/2 cup of gingerbread syrup
♦ 1.5 bar spoons of vanilla extract
♦ Garnished with cinnamon rosemary and cranberries.
1. Combine the base ingredients: In a large pot, add 2 bottles of Merlot, 3/4 cup Jameson Orange, 2 cups pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup gingerbread syrup, and 1.5 bar spoons vanilla extract.
2. Add spices: Drop in 2 cinnamon sticks and stir to combine.
3. Heat gently: Place the pot over low heat and warm slowly until steaming (do not let it boil).
3. Simmer: Keep on low and simmer gently for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
3. Taste & adjust: If you want it sweeter or more spiced, add a touch more gingerbread syrup or another cinnamon stick and let it infuse for a few more minutes.
3. Serve: Ladle into heat-safe mugs or glasses.
3. Garnish: Finish each serving with a cinnamon stick, a sprig of rosemary, and a few cranberries.
