Enough of the political bickering!
Why not have a little fun this election season and cast your vote with a cocktail?!
For the 2012 presidential election, two Seattle small businesses – Chow Foods and broVo Spirits – are working together to create a cocktail election.
Seattleites can visit 5 Spot on Queen Anne to cast their vote by ordering one of four custom cocktails, each with a unique broVo Spirits flavored liqueur. Each drink equals a vote.
Plus, everybody gets one vote just for showing up – step through the red door and vote Republican or step through the blue door and vote Democrat.
WHEN:
The cocktail election kicks off October 3, the night of first Presidential debate. The debate runs from 6 until 7:30 pm PST.
Daily door traffic and cocktail voting updates will be reported on Facebook and Twitter with #votewithyourliver. Voting continues through November 6 – election night – at 8pm.

About broVo Spirits
broVo Spirits is a new artisan distillery started in Washington state in June 2011. Co-Founders Erin Brophy and Mhairi Voelsgen cashed out their 401ks, went to distilling school and began working with local Washington farmers to design five unique liqueurs. Since starting, they survived the vote passing initiative 1183 privatizing the liquor industry and suspending sales in Washington state for seven months. broVo supports more than two dozen families in Washington state and created three jobs in the past year. About Chow Foods
Chow Foods is a local independently owned company with four restaurants located in urban Seattle neighborhoods. The restaurants are full service, 3-meal a day family focused joints – community hubs for the their neighborhoods. The restaurants include the 5 Spot on Queen Anne, Hi-life in Ballard, Endolyne Joes in West Seattle and TNT Taqueria in Wallingford.
The menus at Chow restaurants change each quarter to keep their neighborhoods engaged, excited, and always trying new things. The 5 Spot, now in its 22nd year of operation, is focused on regional American foods & currently features a Washington, DC menu with a politically “balanced” menu and somewhat provocative decorations.
Owned by Peter Levy, an almost native Seattleite, the Company is focused on doing the right thing in sourcing ingredients locally whenever possible, using small local vendors, offering health insurance to all employees and performance bonuses to Managers and Kitchen personnel. The Company that currently employs over 175 people engages each employee’s creativity in contributing to the ever changing menus, music and decorations used at Chow restaurants. While Mr. Levy will not be releasing his tax returns, chances are that he paid significantly higher taxes than one of the candidates running for President who can’t seem to locate his past tax returns.
