Here are some of the wines that we are serving up with this Fall!
While we love drinking wine every season, we are excited to bring in some warm reds, crispy apple note whites and of course….Champagne!
Here are just a few of our favorite wines as we Fall into the season. Be sure to let us know what YOU enjoy and what your bars or restaurants are offering and enjoying right now by tagging us on Instagram @bartendermagazine .
Hidden Sea Red Blend:
The Hidden Sea is a delicious red blend that’s also making waves and saving the planet! This blend of Shiraz, Cab Sav and Malbec is delicious and has a delightful mix of cherry, mulberry, plum and spice notes! The red berry and fruitcake spice, with vanilla and toasty notes is the perfect way to settle into red wine season. BONUS: for every bottle of wine sold, they remove 10 plastic bottles from the sea. Since July 2020, they’ve have removed over 23 MILLION bottles and have a goal of 1 billion bottles by 2030. The company says the whale on the label is a symbol of the fossilized marine life that litters the Limestone Coast of South Australia and lends unique character to their wines.
2. 2019 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2019 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon features intense aromas of ripe black cherry, graphite and blackberry that interlace with a lovely violet floral note. The palate is inviting and well-balanced, exuding flavors of blueberries, cassis and boysenberry that are all beautifully interwoven with silky tannins from the French oak barrels. The dark fruit flavors and delicate acidity evolve beautifully in the glass and linger on the palate. This is a collectible vintage that pairs well with savory Fall dishes. This is not only a collectible but also something that should be enjoyed this season. We have also been enjoying the Jordan Chardonnay which is a must try when you come across it.
3. 2022 Aviana Red Blend, Portugal
This wine is silky with a touch of sweetness and offers a lush red fruit and a long finish. Aviana’s Red Blend from Portugal; is a divine way to dip into fall. This season’s wines are the newest offering from women-majority owned C. Mondavi & Family. It’s great for anything gathering or feature at a bar or restaurant as it’s so affordable at just $20 a bottle. It’s a wine you can come to again and again this season. Aviana celebrates persistence, strength and ingenuity. Developed by the five bold great-granddaughters of our company’s matriarch, Rosa Mondavi, and inspired by the millions of tenacious innovators making their mark every day, Aviana aims to honor and support women across the globe.
4. Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé
Time to talk about some the wine that’s perfect for any occasion, champagne! Anything we have tasted from Billecart-Salmon has been delicious and this rosé is no different. With its subtle and gourmet aromas, this cuvée is a reference point amongst rosé champagnes. It will be a pleasant companion to all your toasts to friends, family and food this fall!
5. Muga Reserva 2019
While Muga has been around since 1932, this is a wine that we re-discovered last Spring and we keep going back for more. This 2019 reserva wine has a bright, ruby-red color, with medium depth and a garnet tinged rim. This will 100% be on our Thanksgiving table when the family is all together. We suggest buying a few of these to drink throughout the Fall and maybe one or two to save for a few for next year…your future self will thank you.
Obviously, there are thousands of bottles to choose from this season, but these are the ones that we are enjoying and will be staples in our home, office and outings.
Before you head out and stock up on the bottles above, make sure you have the proper glassware to drink from all the way through the New Year! Our friends at Riedel really do have some of the best glassware in the world. If you are newer to wine or just looking to get some new glasses, the Riedel’s Veloce Tasting Set and the Riedel’s Wine Friendly Collection are a great way to help you get started. If you are familiar or just looking to expand on your glassware collection, they really have everything you could need and MORE. In fact, I have been looking at their Water Glasses and Sparkling Glasses everyday this week!
We look forward to hearing what you will be drinking and drop your suggestions in the comments below.
