Actress Margot Robbie launches Papa Salt Gin

The newest celebrity to join the spirit owner group is Actress Margot Robbie.  She has announced the launch of her new gin, Papa Salt.  She will join fellow celebrity gin owners, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Watson and newly announced, Brad Pitt with his Gin, The Gardener Gin

Robbie and her gin-loving friends (and husband) dreamt of creating their own spirit with a simple goal of creating a gin that will compliment any soda, taste great with tonic, and make a mean martini. Fifty nine recipes, and many joy filled sunny afternoons of gin tasting later, we present you with Papa Salt.

Papa Salt is an easy-drinking gin that celebrates the subtle taste of native Australian botanicals. Flavours are brightened with zesty wax flower, hibiscus and citrus peel—all wrapped up with subtle hints of nutty wattleseed, the mild spice of pink peppercorn and an unmistakable minerality from a hint of oyster shell.  Yes, there’s a lot to it, but in the end we hope you notice just how easy it is to drink.

Have it long or short, this gin was made for sessionable drinking — our go-to is a generous pour of Papa Salt, with soda, lots of ice and a wedge of fresh grapefruit.

The gin is bottled at 43% ABV and is made in Byron Bay, Australia. It is available to purchase via Iconic Beverages for RRP AU$85 (US$56.86).

PAPA’S SALTY DOG

50ml Papa Salt Coastal Gin

100ml Grapefruit juice

Lime wedge

Crushed Ice

Sea salt

Salt the rim of a well chilled highball glass. In a cocktail shaker combine ice, Papa Salt & grapefruit juice. Shake until well chilled and strain into prepared glass with crushed ice. Finish with lime wedge. It’s fresh.

 

DIRTY DRY MARTINI

50ml Papa Salt Coastal Gin

10ml Noilly Prat Vermouth

20ml of olive brine

Nocellara Olives

In a mixing glass, combine Papa Salt Gin, Noilly Prat Vermouth and olive brine over rocks of ice. Stir with a bar spoon for at least 30 seconds until the dilution is well chilled and smooth to taste. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 olives skewered through a rosemary stem. Sip slowly (or quickly).

Brad Pitt launches The Gardener Gin at the Carlton during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival

Brad Pitt has entered the spirits industry chat with his launch of The Gardener Gin!  Brad, the Perrin Family and Tom Nichol announced the launch of The Gardener Gin, which will be officially presented at the Carlton during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Spring has Sprung with these Tasty Cocktails

Our Spring Issue of Bartender, which is viewable on the main page of our site, www.Bartender.com, has a great article on Spring cocktails!  But, there are so many more to see and feature from Bartenders around the world.

We wanted to continue to showcase a few like these ones below!

1.5 oz Lairds Brandy
.75 oz PX Sherry
.25 oz Falernum
.25 ozCrème deCacao
.5o z Grenadine
.125 ozGingerSyrup
1oz Cranberry juice
.75oz lemon juice
Splash of Ginger Ale

Start with 1.5oz of Lairds Brandy in a shaker.  Add in .75oz of PX Sherry.  Add in .25oz Falernum.  Add in .25oz of Creme de Cacao. Add .5oz of Grenadine to the shaker.  Add .125oz of Ginger syrup, Add 1oz of Cranberry juice, Squeeze in.75oz of Lemon juice (or half of a small lemon).  Shake.  Then top it off with a splash of Ginger Ale.

3/4 oz Suzed’Autrefoi
1/2 oz Alpe Lys
2 bar spoons Rothman & Winter Orchard Apricot
3 drops Bitterman’s Hopped Grapefruit Bitters

Stir and strain over largerock.  Express and garnish with generous grapefruit peel.

1 oz pomegranate juice
1/4 oz port
1/4 oz lemon
1/2 oz honey
1 1/2 Toki Suntory Whisky

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake and garnish with matcha green tea salt on rim of cocktail glass using lemon juice.  Serve in a Nic & Nora glass.

In honor of The Oscars 2023 / 95th Academy Awards we gathered up some celebratory cocktails!  Including some Don Julio cocktails from our friend and globally acclaimed mixologist Charles Joly!

 

The Green Room just launched a newly crafted cocktail called “All Eyes on Me”

2 oz Absolut Elyx

.75 oz house made Caroline raspberry syrup (Caroline Raspberries are a large luscious varietal)

.75 oz fresh lemon juice

Topped with grand marnier molecular foam

Glistening gold sugar sail – resembling an Oscar Award

 

SHOWTIME MARGARITA

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 ½ oz Tequila Don Julio Blanco

½ oz Sage & Mint Syrup

⅛ oz Juiced Galangal (Ginger)

¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice

Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice.

Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass.

Garnish with sage & mint bunch gold-clipped to the rim of the glass.

1 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin

½ oz Noilly Prat Original Dry Vermouth

½ oz Elderflower cordial

½ oz Fresh apple juice

2 oz Chilled ginger ale

Garnish: Gold leaf, pineapple leaves

 

Whale Hello There

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 oz Gray Whale Gin

.5 oz fresh lime juice

.5 oz fresh lemon juice

.5 oz agave syrup

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the gin, lime juice, lemon juice and agave. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass, or strain over a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve immediately.

 

DIRECTOR’S MARTINI

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 ½ oz Tequila Don Julio 70 Cristalino

½ oz Fortified Aperitif Wine

¼ oz Gin

3 dashes Moroccan Bitters

Hand-Stuffed Nopalito & Cotija Cheese Olives (Garnish)

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.  Stir thoroughly. Strain into chilled martini glass.  Garnish with hand-stuffed nopalito & cotija cheese olives.

Big Game Cocktails

Red Zone Punch

Serves 20
1 bottle of Sobieski Vodka (750 ml)
8 oz. orange liqueur
6 oz. orange juice
8 oz. cranberry juice
6 oz. pineapple juice
Champagne
Lemon slices for garnish

Add all ingredients into bowl and stir generously.  Top with lemon slices for garnish.   Top with Champagne to taste.

Hail Mary

Finaliced-tea

½ oz. Sobieski Vodka
½ oz. Triple Sec
½ oz. green-apple schnapps
½ oz. Botran Rum
½ oz.  Ungava Gin
3 oz. ice tea
Lime slice for garnish. Serve over ice.

Pass Interference

1 oz. Lucid Absinthe
1 oz. Sobieski Vanilia Vodka
4 oz. cola
1 mint sprig Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a highball glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Summer Shack

1 (750-ml) bottle Sauvignon Blanc
8 oz. gin
8 oz. Lillet Blanc
4 oz. St-Germain
12 dashes orange bitters

Place all of the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Serve in chilled wine glasses garnished with a lemon twist.

Raspberry Cocktail

8 oz. dry white wine
1 cup fresh raspberries
6 oz. gin
1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz. Kirsch
Lightly mash 1 cup of the raspberries in a bowl. Pour in the gin and let sit at room temperature for 2 hours. Place the raspberries and gin in a blender and blend until smooth. Place a fine-mesh strainer over a medium bowl and strain the mixture. Discard the solids. Combine raspberry mixture, wine, lime juice, simple syrup, Kirsch, and ice cubes. Blend well. Pour into 6 cocktail glasses, garnish with raspberries.

Beauty Elixir

¼ oz. Rose Wine
1½ oz. Gin
½ oz. strawberry puree
¼ oz. lemon juice
¼ oz. simple syrup
2 cucumber slices

Muddle cucumber in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and remaining ingredients except wine. Shake and strain into a glass. Top with sparkling wine.

Princess of the Hive

1 oz. Moscato
1 oz. gin
1 oz. lemon juice
½ oz. Peach Schnapps
½ oz. simple syrup (mix equal parts hot water and sugar until sugar is dissolved)

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a glass.

Spinnaker Sling

3 parts London dry gin
2 parts spiced rum
2 parts ginger ale
1 part elderflower cordial
Juice squeezed from 1/4 lime
Lime peel

Shake well with ice, strain into Martini glass. Squeeze 1/4 lime into cocktail. Serve with lime peel and single ice cube.

Ramos Fizz

2 oz. gin
1 oz. heavy cream
1 egg white
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. lime juice
2 tsp. superfine sugar
2 to 3 drops orange flower water

Combine in a chilled cocktail shaker with plenty of cracked ice, then shake for at least one minute and strain into a chilled Collins glass. Top up with cold seltzer or club soda.

French 75

2 oz. Champagne
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. gin
2 dashes simple syrup

Combine gin, syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a champagne glass. Top up with Champagne. Stir gently.

Tom Collins

2 oz. gin
1 oz. lemon juice
1 tsp. superfine sugar
3 oz. club soda

In a shaker with ice, combine the gin, lemon juice, and sugar. Shake well. Strain into a collins glass with ice. Top with club soda. Stir and garnish with a cherry and the orange slice.
